On October 21st Vote For Chinwe Okelu - Ward 12

Chinwe Okelu has been a resident of ward 12 for over 35 years. An active volunteer in the community for more than 25 years, Chinwe served as President of Knottwood Community League; Chairman, Mill Woods Community Leagues Presidents’ Council; Chairman, Mill Woods Community Health Council; Soccer Coach. He has also served on a number of the City of Edmonton volunteer boards. He is married to Gina and they have two grown sons and two grandsons.

Chinwe was employed by the Provincial government and served on a number of Ministries including Housing, International and Intergovernmental Relations and Municipal Affairs. He holds MA from the University of Alberta and an MBA from Idaho State University; he is also accredited mediator.

Chinwe is a recipient of numerous awards, some of which include Canadian government Citation for Citizenship; Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal; Governor General’s Commemorative Medal; Alberta Centenary Medal; Alberta Premier’s Award of Excellence and City of Edmonton Salute to Excellence.

He strongly believes that a leader who wants to serve the community must, first listen to the people who live in that community. His tagline is “Together we can make a difference”
